The Everette Degolyer legacy stems from an early 20th cenury oil man who invented certain techniques that revolutionized the oil industry. I believe the patriarch graduated from Oklahoma but they were huge philantropists in Dallas and I believe that is the fanily for which the Library is named. Many of you have probably been in the family estate since it was the DeGolyers who donated the home and most of the land on which the Dallas Arboretum sits overlooking White Rock Lake. Also, the Camp family homestead is part of the grounds.

DeGolyer & MacNaughton is indeed the DeGolyer family, though I do not know if they are still principals within it.
A friend of mine worked for them between a Master's in English & Law Degree from SMU. He helped write and publish some of their reports.
