Another local 3-star recruit goes to a rivalCedar Hill OT picks Baylor
12:45 PM CDT on Monday, July 24, 2006 By BRANDON GEORGE / The Dallas Morning News Cedar Hill offensive tackle John Jones said he has orally committed to Baylor, giving the Bears their 20th pledge for the Class of 2007. Jones (6-4, 300) said he chose Baylor over 14 other offers, including Arkansas, Houston, Missouri, Arizona State and Arizona. Oral commitments are nonbinding. The first day a recruit in the Class of 2007 can sign a national letter of intent is Feb. 7, 2007. Jones is the fifth Cedar Hill senior to have orally committed before preseason practices begin Aug. 14. Jones is the third Cedar Hill player to commit to Baylor, joining wide receiver Romie Blaylock and linebacker Chris Francis. Corsicana also has three players committed to Baylor.
How long has it been since Baylor outrecruited both Tech and A&M. Not saying it will stay that way but Guy Morris is proving a lot of doubters wrong. Maybe SMU shouldn't be compared to Baylor or TCU for that matter, BUT I'd like Bennett like Morris to prove a lot of doubters wrong too. So far Morris' stock is skyrocketing in recruiting and Bennett's stock is fizzling.
Maybe that spread offense that Morris is going to copy from Texas Tech has something to do with it. ![]() Lubbock or Waco? Decisions, decisions. ![]()
Don't kid yourself! I lived in Waco for eighteen years, it is the bu-- hole of Texas! With the exception of George's and Papa Rollo's.
with the deck bennett has been provided, i would say he's done a good job of recruiting -
that deck i'm referring to is a non bcs-bs school - already you have a built-in disadvantage vs. a bcs-bs school such as baylor - BRING BACK THE GLORY DAYS OF SMU FOOTBALL!!!
For some strange reason, one of the few universities that REFUSE to use their school colors: Harvard Crimson & Yale Blue.
As in, Baylor? Sir, shooting-star, sir.
Frosh 2005 (TEN YEARS AGO!?!) The original Heavy Metal.
I'll respectfully disagree. I've been to both, enjoyed neither .... but if I had to choose, give me Lubbock and a very large bottle of something extremely strong.
You're in luck, with the wineries around Lubbock and the Tahoka Highway ![]()
I'm going to recieve hell for this but what makes Waco so bad? We have good places to eat and good places to drink, if your into drinking. Waco is pretty ghetto, but it has nice parts. We have most of the things Dallas has, except pro sports and a good night life. You can find the night life in Waco too if you know where to look. If yuor just comming in for a visit then theTexas Sports Hall of Fame is nice and so is the Texas Ranger & Dr. Pepper Museums. We have an asteticlly pleasing zoo and we are close to Dallas and Austin if you want to do higher price shopping or maybe a fancy restaurant. Waco actually has some advantages over Dallas (not kidding), we have little to no traffic problems and Baylor gets coverage in our paper unlike the DMN with SMU. I know Dallas is better than Waco, but Waco isn't like Fort Stockton or anything.
