Postby mustangnation » Wed Aug 02, 2006 12:56 pm

ESPN radio just reported that Rhett Bomar has been kicked off the team for taking money for a job that he did not do.

Wow.

Sorry I don't have anything more to contribute, but that's shocking.

BrianintheBigD gets a shoutout. He predicted that Willis would be better than Bomar this season, and I disputed him. He is right.
Willis to slot receiver!

Bomar may be playing against us when SHSU takes the field.

Any rumors as to who the 2nd is? Was the private-entity was alum-owned?

This had to be a pretty large sum of money to demand this sort of action. Like 25k for working for 20 minutes.

I assume there's a message board at soonersillustrated.com. I don't know that, just guessing.

Both are DFW guys -- Bomar is from Grand Prairie, Quinn is from Garland.

Conspiracy theory: one of the guys reporting the story, Doug Gottleib, is a graduate of Oklahoma State. Oooooooooohhhh....

I spoke with my Norman contingency. Of course the timing sucks, but this guy has gained a reputation of being cocky and overall poor reflection of the university.

I watched him throw a tantrum in high school and was convinced he was a mistake waiting to happen.

Its a recipe for disaster for a football-adoring area such as Norman to allow such immature and cocky kids to become even more inflated by the sheer worshipdom those idiots perform.

And he was the son of a coach, but not the humble and hardworking types. He is a punk and his father did him a disservice by feeding him full of how great he is.

So what does he do now? Go to an NAIA school? He's screwed.

I don't see him transferring into another NCAA school. He broke an NCAA rule, not a team rule, and the NCAA probably would not approve a transfer at this point. So he either goes NAIA or waits the requisite time then goes into the NFL.

What are the CFL rules for draft eligibility? Do they even have a draft? Is he eligible to play up there?
