Rivals article indicates interest in SMU:
The 6-foot-2, 225-pounder is a consistent 4.6-second runner in the 40-yard dash and coach Ben Scharnberg says that he has the "opportunity" to be something very special.
"Roosevelt has tools, the size, and the opportunity, but he's going to have to keep maturing that I have no doubt that he will," Scharnberg said. "The guy is an animal and really a specimen of a player. We're hoping he does well. It took him a little while to grow up in some respects though."
Falls needs to keep his grades up. Both SMU and Rice have indicated that they could offer him scholarships if the grades are there. Oklahoma, Tulsa, and Texas have also sent him mail. Of course, the grades are probably not as much of a problem at Oklahoma.
There aren't any visits right now and it's pretty obvious that Falls is going to let his performance on and off the field this fall do the talking.
Coach Scharnberg is very well aware of how good he is and can be going into his final year of high school football.
"The kid is unreal," Scharnberg said about Falls. He's going to have to handle the football for us on offense 25 to 30 times a game. Then on defense, he's going to be a great linebacker at the college level.
"His grades are iffy, but I have no doubt that he'll work hard. He's got to. This guy is an animal."

Sounds like a good OLB prospect maybe?
I'd say RB, but we're bringing back at least five of those, right?

Sounds like he has nice potential. He is a grinder and he must be in really good shape. Hope he gets those grades up so he can go to SMU, it would be a big pickup.

Reminds me of another real animal, Roosevelt Leaks from UT. He would have set the single game national rushing record against SMU if the field had been about 10 yards longer. He had a long TD run at the end of the game and fell just about 5-10 yards short. If this kid were anything like him, we definitley would want him.

that's right Mrydel- and my foggy recollection from 30 odd years ago-was that you caused each and every one of his 3 first half fumbles. He was the goat at halftime but SMU made the mistake of making Leaks mad.

You bet I was responsible for those fumbles. That moved me up in the Heisman watch. It is a shame they chose to let me sit the 2nd half.

Was that the game where Rosey had about 300 yards at the Cotton Bowl (1973), I think.

It was Coach Dave Smith's first year and that was 1973.

You and Eaststang are correct. I recalled being in the stands and thus thought it was my Freshman year but was actually my first year of sitting in the stands after graduating.
