At the Mustang club reception tonight, Doh affirmed that Bamba is indeed eligible and that we have 7 scholarships available for 2007. He seemed truly excited by Bamba's potential. The principal emphasis of all the coaches talks was that if SMU is to succeed we need butts in the seats in all sports.

Shocker. It would be great if it happened. I like his approach of not signing people just to sign. I love the fact that he is very visible and personable.

He's extremely visible, at least for me. I keep running into the guy everywhere I go it seems. First it was the excellent kids football camp a couple of weekends ago -- his son and my son were in the same group -- and then I got a chance to chat with him on the first day of school as he was taking his son and daughter to class.
