Breakout players
At 6-3 and 265 pounds, Highland Park senior offensive tackle Kelly Turner is hard to miss. But most Highland Park followers know little about Turner.
That's what happens when you play all season behind a Division I prospect. Turner spent last year as the backup to standout lineman Reid Prince, who is now at Baylor.
Turner seems primed for a breakout season this year. He orally committed to SMU before making a varsity start at Highland Park.
Turner is a strong, physical lineman who gets off the ball quickly and should be another in a long line of talented Division I players produced by Highland Park. Turner will be key to the offense this season as senior William Webb adjusts to the role of starting quarterback and Highland Park establishes its running game with RB Alex Carroll, a returning starter.
