Coach Bennett did say that both Willis and Slater will take snaps on Saturday. He wants both of them to get game experience.

I thought I saw in the paper that Leach said that he plans to have both his QBs play, too.

Willis - 125 yrds 2 picks
Rush for 45 yrd but with the sacks ends at net 15 yrds

Martin will be 115 yrds with a TD
Henderson will break one to the house

Fitzie and Mapps get alot of carries that result in roughly 10 yrds total.

Willis will pick it up after TT though and end the season with better stats than Romo last year.

Has anyone seen Eric Johnson practice. Will he get any snaps. I thought he was being given equal time with Slater.

I don't see Fitz and Mapps will get a lot of carries, especially if DeMyron Martin is running well. If DeHeisman is eating up yards and clock, I would think they'd run him all day.

per the Raiderpower site:

"Leach was asked that question directly during the press conference today. His answer was to the question of when Todd would play was:

We will play Graham as long as he is healthy. If he is unhealthy, Todd would play immediately.

Otherwise, Todd will play when "we feel we have the game in hand" and the "situation is right" for him to play.

That's pretty close to his exact answer.

He also said he would not take Graham out just because the offense might be struggling at any given time."

Of course we get nothing legitimate from Stallion...

Anyway, Willis: 12 of 25; 1 TD; 1 Int.
Martin: 24 carries for 120 yds; 10 carries for the other backs for 30+ yards.

I am praying that Bennett is saying this as a precaution. He just wanted to put this out there so that if Willis is struggling his confidence won't be shot when/if he gets pulled for Slater. The last thing I want to see is another revolving door at QB.

Willis will complete a good percentage of passes but wont accumulate many passing yards against Tech I would guess. I fully expect 1 pick and would not be surprised to see 2. He will still manage to get a TD through the air or on the ground. And as I stated above, his season will turn out better than Romo's last year.

SMU 13 - Tech 27

Willis will have less than 150 yards passing and will be sacked no less than four times.

Tough game for him to open with.

Hope I am wrong. Man do I hope I am wrong!!!!!

I may for the first time, take the spread.

Uber-sunshiner I could have been.
But Bennett is saying that both guys are taking snaps this weekend????
Is that what the newspaper said the guy said????!!!!

I hope that he means we will be up by such a margin that Slater can.
But I doubt it.

Can we PLEASE NOT SCREW UP THIS ONE PART OF THE GAME???!!!!

Why on God's green earth is Willis suddenly not the starter he was in the spring???!!!

I swear if he doesn't name Willis THE dude by tomorrow, I am revising my predictions, and when I mean revise, I mean drunken-stupor bi-polar revise.

Got...to...find...my...bottle...of...whiskey...in...here...somewhere...amidst...all...my...wife's...sh@#$%@*#!!!!

LA_Mustang...after hearing the platoon theory, I feel greasy...like those has browns that Legends served that day in Long Beach.

:?

Why is this happening????!!!!!!!!!11

WHOA guys... chill on the Bennett talk.

This is the first yar we are going to challenge for a bowl. In order for us to reach that goal, how important is the Tech game?

What is important is to get our guys some game time, let them see what the real think is like, and get some experience. Then you go out there ready to pound the rest of the OOC schedule.

If I were Bennett, and I had two guys with no experience, I would go out of my way to make sure that both guys see the field. Willis is the starter, and there is no doubt about it. But you have got to get both guys on the field before you get into must-win, games count types of situations.

Willis is definitely the starter. Coach mentioned at the lunch on Monday that both QBs should see some time on Saturday. I don't think we are going to a platoon situation.

I think what Phil and Rusty want is that going into conference play, we have two QBs that have taken snaps and played. That way if one goes down, we at least have someone else who has played in a game that can come in. We've got four games before conference play starts to get these guys game experience.

Looks like we'll be shoring up the tight end situation soon....
