I would bet that even if his appeal for reinstatement is approved by then (and there's no guarantee of that, to be sure), I bet the coaches don't play him against UT, citing "lack of familiarity with the system" or somesuch. He'll be "up to speed" when they come to Dallas, I'm sure .... if he's reinstated by then.
Rhett Bomar's mother is a Sam Houston State alum. That may have had some influence on his decision. That and the fact that we run a pass-attack offense. Also, he was shunned at Texas State and the Univ. of Houston is pretty much locked in with Kolb. And Stephen F. Austin State just sucks. All of us here in Huntsville look at this as a glass half-full situation. It's the biggest signing in our school's history. It's brought national recognition to the school, other than being the college that Dan Rather graduated from back in the Fifties. Some folks are beginning to call us Quarterback U. since we've now had Josh McCown (former SMU QB), Dustin Long (former Texas A&M QB) and Phillip Daugherty (former Texas Tech QB) all transfer here. We're all waiting to see what the NCAA decides on Bomar's fate. We don't expect him to be on the field for any of our OOC games, especially against SMU or Texas. When the 'Kats come to Dallas, we'll have either Phillip Daugherty or Wade Pate on the field. Either way, we're all looking forward to playing the Mustangs. If Bomar takes the field for our conference games, we're hoping he'll show more signs of maturity and leadership than he showed at OU and take us to the national championship game. Time will tell. See ya'll Sept. 16th in Dallas. EAT 'EM UP, 'KATS!
I hope the NCAA makes an example of him. Nevers plays football again. Harsh? Nah.

Maybe he went on vacation? It's weird not having him on here.
He wants #5000 to be a killer.

SHSU didn't "take" MM65, he chose SHSU because of their superior Radio/TV/Film Department, which was a fledglng program at SMU at the time. Don't be dissing my MM65 . . . Born Red & Blue
