A Baylor board poll has voted overwhelming in favor of
starting a home and home series with TCU. Would this
likely replace the SMU-TCU series?

Nope. It'll be: SMU, Baylor, SMU, Baylor, SMU, Baylor . . .

An annual round robin series among SMU, TCU and Baylor works for me. Three teams representing three conferences is a natural. Book'em Dan-o.

The SMU/tcu game is too beneficial for either team to back out of the almost yearly game. Not only does it help boost their attendence with a close rivalry game every couple of years, but it also helps recruiting every year.
I could probably see some kind of rotation of Baylor, tcu, the muck green, and SMU. That would make some kind of sense and be beneficial to all.

BU-TCU drew 42,000 this past sunday. The atmosphere was great and the game was pretty good, but sloppy.

I'm not saying that the tcu-Baylor game wasn't also beneficial. I'm just saying that all of those games are beneficial to all of the teams. I'd like to see the SMU-Baylor matchup more in the future as well. The games are generally well fought games (although sometimes "sloppy") and the fact that they are in the same region helps attendence.

I'd rather play Baylor than TCU as well.. For every good SMU/TCU game over the years there have been 10 great SMU/Baylor games during the same time period. No exaggeration. SMU/TCU has been one of the least interesting rivalries over the last 50 years because neither team has been good at the same time.

Was last year's game with Baylor a one time thing or were the other games played before last years? I looked at the future schedules and didn't see the Bears around.

give me a non-conference schedule with TCU, Baylor and UNT and I'm happy. Throw in an appealing opponent in 12 game years (Big XII, SEC, Army/Navy) . I'm sorry but Ark St and Sam Houston don't do much for me.

i like playing SMU but you guys have to start pulling your weight on attendance. You haven't brought anyone over to Fort Worth for at least 7-8 years, where we load up ole Gerald Ford. From a budgeting standpoint, these games make sense, but something tells me Baylor will bring more next year than SMU will.
