Good luck for the rest of the season

Postby gangrene » Sun Sep 10, 2006 12:53 am

For those of you that traveled to Denton, I hope you were able to enjoy some of the pre-game festivities. I know the game wasn't pretty from your perspective but I hope you managed to find something positive from your experience at our humble abode. I know...Fouts Field sucks. My high school stadium was better than Fouts.

Anyway, I just wanted to say that I was pulling for SMU against Tech (I can't stand Mike Leach) and I'll be pulling for you guys for the remainder of the season.

Best of luck in CUSA!!!

haha....glad to see some honesty about Fouts Field! What a hole! Are y'all building a new stadium?

As for tailgating - I just can't get excited about grilling on a parking lot - have you seen the tree-lined Boulevard???

Yep. Many in the stands were hoping that the fireworks would burn the old crapatorium down. It will definately be replaced by 2010.....The new expanded I-35E/W will be running through the home stands, the Music School wants an Opera House on part of the land and Parking wants a garage on the rest.

Since music & fine arts run the school, it's a definate. The question is how big our new one across the freeway will be - initially around 32,000 but with a final capacity of around 55,000. We'd be lucky to have one that looks as good as Ford.

good for yall....i think Ford is an awesome model for small football programs like UNT. Go with nice over size, but leave room for expansion if the need arises...

I think UNT has a better chance of selling out a stadium Ford's size than we do

as long as they get rid of that horrible eagle noise they'd play on 1st downs....AWFUL!!!

Plus, can't they just spell out "UNT" w/ thier flags...spelling out MEAN GREEN looked funny and kinda dorky

About the Mean Green flags, they had nothing better to spend on from their new orleans bowl victory

I will say that despite the whole debacle on the field, the Mean Green had some classy fans. Thanks!

Don't get too down. Don't get me wrong, get a little down because you should but don't get TOO down.

Demyron Martin was gashing us for 5 and 6 yards a carry until he got hurt. That would have affected the outcome some. Also, Willis is a freshman in his second game. He clearly is trying to do too much. That interception he threw is one where he will learn from it and go down next time.

Good luck the rest of the season. In fact, good luck until we come to Ford next season. :D

It hurts too much for consolation

Postby Sam I Am » Sun Sep 10, 2006 1:28 pm

I am sure that there were many UNT fnas who waned to gloat over our demise, so it was gratifying to read Eagle two posts that attempted to be consoling about out team. But this time the loss hurts too much for kind words to relieve it. The AD would have to fire PB today before any mustang could slowly build up hope for the future. Some may never come back for fear of being let down even more in the years to come.
