Don't bash UNT, the school, the students, the fans and the alumni. WE LOST....THEY BEAT US...... Take a shot at OUR team and what we could have done better (everything).
I hate to lose more than anybody, but starting to compare SAT scores and research facilities is the saddest thing I have ever heard. School rankings are the most worthless things I have ever seen. Post those on another board.
Good luck to UNT.

Game Ball goes to Ramon Flanigan for his excellent playcalling.
Great game UNT. This is why we don't want to play you.

Thee are some people who plan to win the fight after game when they lose on the field. Fair is fair. UNT beat us where it mattered on Saturdya night. If we are going to be sore losers, let's be sore at the coaches who have let us down.

i disagree...school rankings may be "overrated" - but they aren't worthless, and they certainly matter.
Try getting accepted to SMU Law or any other graduate or professional degree program of high caliber w/ a degree from a low-ranking school, and its A LOT harder than it is for a student from a well-ranked school.
School rankings suck, but they are still important.

Classy post my friend. SMU is a great School and has a program that is on the rise. We are more alike than I know either side wants to admit. We both have alumni bases that are demanding more of the programs than the programs are ready to produce, and as a long time fan of UNT, I understand how many of you feel right now.
...This UNT fan looks forward to the day that this cross town battle is a game with nationwide interest because both of our programs have grown to that point!
Good luck in the rest of your season. Bounce backs HAPPEN! Stay behind your team and school and good things WILL happen!

It bothers me that any UNT alumni or current student would try to classify SMU and UNT as being similar in any other way than football. I understand that this is supposed to be friendly but some post on here talked about how similar the schools are, and this can't be any farther from the truth. I will leave it at that.

You are right- comparisons are silly. I've always thought when someone starts touting how good a school they are on the athletic message boards it was the true mark of a loser. SMU and UNT are apples and oranges. Especially trying to compare law schools since UNT doesn't have one. I'll give you that SMU has a stronger business program and MBA, and also a better theology school (again UNT doesnt have one). But if you were to suggest that SMU is comparible to UNT in Music? That would be laughable. Anybody that saw the bands at halftime would know what a joke that is. UNT has the finest music school in the nation. SMU pales in comparison. Also with a history as a teachers college- UNT's college of education and graduate programs are light years ahead of SMU recently founded education department ( I think I read somewhere you recently started offering an education major?). UNT also offers more docerate and graduate programs than SMU. No offense intended and Im not putting SMU down at all. It's just that both schools excel in different areas.

No education major yet. That is in the process of being added, from what I have heard.
And agreed on both schools excelling in different areas. Other differences: public/private, midsized/large university, etc
