Message for us and an an opportunity for Bennett

Bill Curry's article, "Coaching Comes with Great Responsibilties", should remind us what expectations we need to have for the long term, as well as how we all hope Bennett approaches the game and his players.

Character is number one with me. Although we haven't seen success yet, I am giving Bennett all my support and expect his attitude and behavior are the right way to go, now and well into his career.

I've talked to some people who have played for Coach Bennett (at A&M) and who have known him a while. One of them told me that no matter whether SMU wins every game or never wins a game, we'll always be proud of the way Coach Bennett and his staff work and represent the university. His character and his work ethic are beyond reproach.
