Fresh off the wire, Rusty Burns has taken the wraps off the entire play book and will run the SMU offense with reckless abandon for the rest of the year.
Many players were seen jumping for joy at the latest news. TE's slept well last night as they had thoughts of catching a few balls this weekend. The RB's relaxed knowing that they would not run straight up the middle another 25 times this week.
Most effected was the QB that has been studying this playbook for a year and a half. LETS have some FUN guys.

Yeah.. heard that one before. Get ready for "Slip Screen Left" "Slip Screen Right"
What we obtain too cheap.. we esteem too lightly. It is persistence alone that gives everything its value.

I'm partial to the Run, Run, Screen Pass, Punt gameplan, myself. It's sort of grown on me.

My personal faves are the quick kick and putting the running back in motion so he ends up in the slot so the QB is alone in the backfield.

the most telling stat I've seen is Ray Pellerin who was our leading receiver with something like 5 catches for 21 yards. Never seen a stat like that from a WR in 45 years of watching college football. A RB maybe but not WR

Just check Rice's stat sheet from the last 3 years.. I'm sure you'll see plenty of the same from the Hatfield regime

If you work in about 10 Hail Marys, you've got my NCAA 2006 strategy.
Just my two cents.

Do you think that there might be a crossing route for one of our receivers anywhere in that playbook? I seem to only see that route about once every two or three games the last few years.

Fans, if you've seen plays run successfully by other programs, don't tell our coaches. Lets just stay the course and wait another 9 games before our staff figures out the strength of the team and we finish with 3 November wins and build up for 2007, which will inevitably be a bowl season. Seriously though, whatever offensive attack we plan to employ, definitely don't give a QB any confidence to make throws. Screens and bootlegs will keep our winning streak alive.

Get Burns up top and if we do not win, let Jerry Bennett call the plays.
That takes two decisions. I hope that both are made.

Most teams that use screen passes actually employ blockers in front of the receiver. For some reason, we don't.

Hey...Why is Burns not in the booth to see the field? Is that something that has been discussed?
