Mean Green Football Receives National Award

DENTON (9/12/06) – As if beating SMU 24-6 wasn’t enough on its own, on Monday the North Texas football team was named the Division I-A Team of the Week by CollegeSportsReport.com.

Others receiving consideration for the award were California, Missouri, Notre Dame, and Ohio State for their win over Texas in Austin.

The Tennessee Volunteers were named the week one winner of the award.
