ACC vote to happen this afternoon

1) 13-school plan is not on the table
2) UNC is the only ACC school in favor of Miami-only expansion...

Vote will be at 6:00p EST on Miami, BC and Syracuse... Swafford feels Duke will vote in favor, and he is rushing to beat the court date on Thursday.

What happened to the talk of Virginia Tech joining the fray?

According to my friend, a UNC grad who works in marketing for Jefferson Pilot (which doesn't mean a lot but he does have good friends in the trenches), the 13-school plan was never serious. It was meant to put Va Tech in a bind. Either they publicly announce they want in, which would hurt the Big East suit, or they reject the offer, which would allow Virginia to approve expansion.

They stayed quiet, which the ACC didn't count on.

Again, if only one program is added probably very few dominos fall this time around which is a good thing for SMU.
