What the hell is wrong with Franchione at TAMU? Why is he not having the success there that he had elsewhere? Is it just karma?
The donkey's name is Kiki.
On a side note, anybody need a patent attorney? Good, Bad...I'm the one with the gun.
because UT and Oklahoma are 2 of the Top 5 recruiting programs in the country-A&M has not been competitive with either program in recruiting since Stoops and Brown arrived. The competitive talent level is most certainly down in College Station. Plus I think the game evolved on R.C. in his last few years and Slocum didn't really adjust.
So that is Fran's fault?
Great! We have an Aggie on our web site. I can't begin to tell you how much of a beating this is.
Your school is weird. Your traditions are stupid. Your fight song is boring. Your band is overrated. And your corps needs to understand that chasing our cheerleaders off of Kyle Field waving the sabres was possibly the dumbest thing in the history of that school. The only good thing that came out of A&M was when they beat UH the week after UH beat us, 95-21. Everybody remember when Aaron Wallace held up Andre Ware's helmet like he was holding the head of the emperor after Wallace took Ware to the woodshed? Oh, wait a minute, Phil Bennett is an Aggie. Hmmmmmmmmmmm!!!
Allright, somewhat off topic, but as long as A&M has been brought up:
One of the fellows I work with is constantly telling me what an "All-time Elite Powerhouse" A&M is. Now, not growing up in Texas (the screen name should give you that hint. ![]() My list (by current conference in no order) would include: Big 10: Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State; SEC: LSU, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee; Big 12: Oklahoma, Nebraska, Texas; Pac-10: USC; ACC: Florida State, Miami, and Independant: Notre Dame. So in my 15 there is no room for A&M and a few more schools (Auburn, Washington, Arkansas) I would probably put ahead of A&M. Bringing my to my point: Is this a crazy idea, is A&M on the level of my personal 15 or does my co-worker (who went to UH but loves the Aggies over his own school ?!?) have a slightly out of whack concept of A&M "greatness." Or, since I am a little younger than some (30) is A&M an alltime great program that is now over shadowed by "bigger-name" schools in it's own conference? (and yes; I realize this is probably a seperate thread but this A&M talk brought it to mind)
Oddly enough, there are people on this board who went to SMU who love the University of Texas more than their own school! ![]()
Anybody else catch the irony here? ... _ _ .._
Not any more of a beating than someone who blabs about Big 10 football on an SMU board.
