A victory over and ACC team would look great and help SMU. Just think, Two wins, one against Big 12, one against ACC!
Getting ahead of myself, one against C-USA. If we could win all of our non-conference games, that would help in recruiting, and rankings! And help us get into a better conference.

That's true - beating a team that (according to PonyFans.com) beat Florida State a couple of years ago would be AWESOME.

Not to mention beating Texas last year.

Whatever - Texas is all hype.
Seriously thought, beating Florida State is a much bigger accomplishment. (And to be fair, N.C. State didn't beat Texas .... Texas beat Texas with a bunch of stupid mistakes.)

Hey, give us a little credit for beating the Longhorns..........
The Florida State game was the best game I ever witnessed. They scored on a 70 yard bomb 2 minutes into the game and I thought we were going to get killed. But we held them scoreless for 58 minutes after that and blew them out, 24-7!
I think Baylor beat us the following week.......go figure.

Hey, I am a longhorn fan just as much as I am an SMU fan. I was at that game last year, and you guys certainly deserved the win. Texas could not get their offense going at all, and N.C. State capitalized on our mistakes. It was a great game....for N.C. State

We were 6-6 last year. We beat Texas, South Carolina, William and Mary, Clemson, Duke and Maryland. Lost to FSU, Wake, Virginia, Georgia Tech, North Carolina, and East Carolina.
Sorry wrong thread, someone in another thread asked for this info.

I think a major factor in the Texas game was blocked kicks. Based on last week's game we still have the knack, so watch out!

This is something that reall scares me about my Mustangs. We are notoriously bad at special teams. The only area we typicaly excel at his kick blocking. This year, we have been outstanding with the exception of the place kicker. We blocked a couple the first week of the season. In fact, we have always been good at blocking punts, field goals, etc....At least, as long as I have been at SMU. I think we blocked 3 v. Kansas, and that was the difference in the game.
