Franochio bailed on UNM after he helped make them sort of legit. He came to TCU and said he wanted to be there for "a long, long time." So, of course, he split for 'Bama (that one's easy to forgive -- I'd leave Fort Worthless for the SEC in a heartbeat, too). When he got to Tuscaloosa, he announced he wanted to retire there, until an Aggie came along with a huge stack of cash. Gone again! When Notre Dame hired O'Leary (and then Weis), word is he was calling South Bend every day, trying to get that job. This is a guy always looking for the bigger deal, and never has shown anything close to loyalty to any of his former employers.

Oddly enough, there are people on this board who went to SMU who love the University of Texas more than their own school!
Anybody else catch the irony here?
Explanation, please.

Better to extol the virtures of a conference than the cult in College Station.

Because of your whole SMU/SHSU identity crisis.

No identity crisis. As many people on this board point out quite often, I did not attend SMU. However, I support the Mustangs for many reasons, primarily because it is THE university for Dallas, where I live.

I thought it was because of a perverse adolescent crush on the Homecoming Queen in 1965-I think you should seriously consider psychological therapy

See? You're not paying attention.
<<<<<The woman kissing me is not the Homecoming Queen. She's a cheerleader. And a damn fine looking one, too!
'Course I was getting kissed while you were still putting butt patties in your diapers.

Franchione has shown he is an opportunist. He has won everywhere but College Station. My view is that he and the Aggies deserve each other. If he fails, he'll be gone and then have to work his way back up by going to a Mid-major or going to a PAC-10 loser like OSU. If he succeeds, he'll be gone to a more highly paying job somewhere. Arizona Cardinals come to mind.

Man, you get weirder with every post. You should go cold turkey for a while, not because of a bet, but because you treasure your mental health, such as it is.
