Sorry to disappoint but once again, I'll be there.

I have thought you were a little overboard with some of your posts earlier this week (my opinion), but I truly am glad you are going to the game. Opinions are always welcome but fans are always necessary. Cheer loud and give them a chance to win back your loyalty and if not you still have time to change your allegience.

Just a heat of the moment thing. Last week's loss just really struck a nerve, especially since I was expecting so much more.

Maybe they'll change my mind about them this week but still can't get over how bad we looked againist UNT.

But yea...Longview won by 31 tonight and got back to their old form so maybe SMU will play like they did the last time we played at Ford, especially if the same thing that has been happening the past 2 years holds true. Totally different team at Ford?

I think another 5 win year would be a success. If we pull off wins at the end of the year we are beating good teams that we will be fighting for recruits with such as Rice, Houston and Tulsa. Every team in our conference seems to be decent except for us. 5 wins is a success this year. At least the west division is stacked. Think about it...
Ark State is pretty good (last year's suck belt champ)
UTEP is ridiculously good
Tulsa is awesome (see UNT game)
Houston is great
Rice is pretty good
UAB is pretty good
Tulane is ok
Marshall kind of sucks
East Car is ok

Looking at the schedule, a five win season is a success. It's also not backtracking like Cavan. 5 wins would be consistency. 4 wins would be somewhat consistent. Remember, we are working with a redshirt fm qb. We should not be good especially considering our schedule. I was disappointed in the UNT game, but we did not prepare for a running qb, demyron got hurt and Justin Willis looked like a rs freshman. All things considered, I would love to see another 5 win season. Unlike with Cavan we would still be on the brink after 2 consecutive mediocre seasons. Remember after mediocre comes kind of good. You have to have a couple of seasons at mediocre to get to kind of good. I'm still holding out for 6, but 4 or 5 would not be a reason to fire the coach.

Also, if you are still disappointed in 2 consecutive 5 win seasons check to see how many times we have done that since the death penalty....the answer is we haven't. 5 wins is fine by me, but something tells me we won't get there. 4 wins and some quality play on offense in the losses would still be encouraging to me.

Well, we have been instructed by JT to have low expextations.

Aren't you pleasantly surprised by this win over a d-2 team?

I like this shark better than your last one.

If everyone has low expectations then we should not see as much [deleted] as we see and Bennet should have to fear for his job, right.

Maybe so. SMU football: the safest job in America.

With Orsini, I don't think that will be the case. Somehow I trust Orsini's decision making a lot more than Copeland's. If Bennett needs to go he will go, but I at more at ease with Orsini at the helm making that call.
