DMN-Purple Majesty?

Postby LakeHighlandsPony » Sun Sep 17, 2006 1:52 pm

Did TCU just beat USC?? The toads beat a team that was ranked lower than them in the polls, barely escaped UTEP and the DMN is treating this like they won the National Championship. It was a nice win for the frogs but the news gushes over those guys.

It was a very good win. 4th in a row over the Big 12.

Just remember who the last team to beat them was...

SMU! SMU! SMU! SMU! SMU! SMU!

It's amazing how something like that -- more than a year after the fact -- can still make me smile so much. What a glorious night that was!

It was so big because media types are just to beginning to realize there is something other than the Big 12 around here.

Wasn't supposed to turn out that way. Us private, church schools were to fade from relevance; let the big boys play.

It was a VERY big win - for us too.

I hope our winning streak is still in tact when we play you next year at Amon Carter. The Tech game was way more fun in person than on TV, believe me

That's just because it was on OLN.

What is the longest winning steak in history for SMU? Have we had a winning streak of more than 3 games post DP?

I forgot that we had won 5 straight prior to the debacle at TCU the last game of the year in 97. I don't see a 21 game winning streak from 81-83...as in 81, we won 6, lost to Texas before going on another winning streak that ended with the 17-17 tie to Arkansas to end the 82 regular season. I guess you are figuring that a tie does not end a consecutive wining streak?

4 of the last 5, finishing with a 3 win streak IIRC

I think you meant to say 4 out of the last 6. After the win at UAB, we lost to ECU and Tulsa, before beating Rice, Houston and UTEP to end the season.
