As another (additional) suggestion...
During my fifth and final year at SMU, I spent a lot of time trying to get some support for all sports. I would sit outside HT and get students to sign posters for the teams. I did it for all sports (football, basketball, volleyball, and soccer...occassionally some of the others) and got a few people to help me every now and then. A couple of the teams told me that they really enjoyed having the posters down in the locker room with notes of support.
Maybe tomorrow or early Saturday, you could drop off a little note of encouragement at the football offices. Add some color to it...maybe 'Go Mustangs!' in big letters. Imagine if everybody on Ponyfans wrote a letter of support for the team (just something short and sweet) each week (home or away) for the team. How about it? Write a letter of support for the team and then show up to cheer them on for their walk.
