Unless something changes, it looks like all the rain may be gone by early afternoon.

The sun is now shining brightly in Farmers Branch. The radar on channel 4 this morning looked like it would be clear once the front passed through. It had better be clear or 75% of the fair weather fans at SMU won't attend. It never seems to bother the fans in the northern states, but in Texas everyone seems to melt with a little precipitation!

LOOKING BETTER!

Latest Update: 2:10PM

Now

A line of showers and thunderstorms associated with a cold front extends from near Sulphur Springs to Waxahachie to Gatesville and will continue to move east at 25 mph. Some of the embedded storms have been severe with large hail...and will continue to produce very heavy rainfall...frequent cloud to ground lightning...and gusty winds. Rainfall rates up to 2 inches per hour will also accompany these storms...so minor flooding of low lying areas will be possible. Additional showers and thunderstorms are located from near Rockdale to Palestine. These storms will also continue to increase in coverage and intensity through the afternoon. Behind the line of storms and cold front...drier conditions and partly cloudy skies can be expected...along with northwest winds.

This Afternoon

Mostly cloudy with a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Highs in the upper 80s. Northwest winds 10 to 15 mph.

Tonight
Partly cloudy. Cooler. Lows around 60. North winds 5 to 15 mph.
