I saw one publication (can't remember which) that said the offensive star of this year's class would be A'Darius Medford. Can't have too many weapons!

He may be limited in some areas, arm strength...

But the three things I want from my QB are:
1. A leader
2. A playmaker
3. A student of the game

He appears to be growing into all of them. He will continue to make mistakes and then just learn to get past them. But I like his courage, his field presence and understanding of when to do what.

We all forgot this, but I think on our second series (we punted), he did two very smart things.

On first down, he took a sack when he wanted to throw and realized he needed to eat the football and come back for 2nd down.

On third down on the scramble, he bought time and then threw the ball away rather than trying to force something and risk an INT.

On the surface, that looks like two bad plays, but in my opinion, it reflects the understanding of how to play the position.

I believe Texas Football coverage written by that former UT recruiting coordinator Randy Rodgers said Medford was the pize of the class.
