That is why we are favored by 3? Maybe if we had a special teams coach, we would be favored by 7.
Just send 'da money.

You don't need a special teams coach when you don't run the swinging gate...uh, wait, we don't have a special teams coach either, do we?

Art Briles is 4-0 and he runs the swinging gate.

When we're 4-0 I'll be ok with us spending a little practice time on special teams gimmicks. Until then, let's line up in a legal formation and kick.

Briles also ran the swinging gate when they went 6-6 last year. Bennett ran it when we went 0-12, and also 5-6. Whether we do the swinging gate or not has no bearing on our record or anybody else's. Many coaches run the swinging gate, I don't understand why people freak out so much about Bennett running it. We have many more important things to worry about with this team.

Just out of sheer curiosity since I don't know the answer, do any big-name programs use swinging gate?

Yes, I have seen at least one BCS program run the swinging gate on TV, but I can't remember who it was now. Wish I could do better than that, but I have seen it, because it made me think of Bennett when I saw it. (Dang...I was waiting for somebody to ask that question)

Just a stab in the dark, but I seem to recall that BC uses it. But I may be projecting that.
