Last night their pass defense reminded me of one that I watch weekly. I can not imagine how they shut down TT, and then put on that performance.

Maybe Tech just isn't that good this year. Makes our loss look that much worse.

Tech is not as good this year - they are transitioning and have had a lot of academic casualties/injuries. They lost to TCU and they had to go to OT to beat UTEP, and will probably lose at eATMe this weekend.

I went to the BYU/TCU game last night (GF went to TCU, so we go to one-two games a year). BYU controlled the line of scrimmage - they were in the backfield harassing Ballard all night, and on offense, they had all day to throw. They have some big Samoans on that team that can push people around. They actually do a pre-game Tongan dance, which was pretty cool.

Two other things I noticed - I was impressed with the amount of purple TCU fans were wearing (nearly everyone was wearing purple) and BYU travels well (they probably had 3,000 - 4,000 fans there and were very vocal).

I couldn't believe TCU was starting a true freshman (or I think he was starting-he played a lot) in OT Marshall Newhouse from Lake Highlands. Kid wasn't even that highly recruited although SMU wanted him and he has some nice physical skills. Rarely do unheralded freshman start on Top 20 Teams in the offensive line-usually a very bad sign.
