With the emergence of Redshirt Freshman Justin Willis over the past 2 games, I would have to say that his performances have been a tad bit impressive...
When playing I-AA team and stAte, you have to put up impressive numbers. I am glad SMU was not another victim of a 1-AA beating like Colorado was.
I think Willis is just now finding his rythme after to very successful outings.
Dont look too much into his impressive rating and completion %.
Tulane will be the ultimate test for Willis. If he performs like he has in the past 2 games, he will lead SMU to victory...
No pressure on Willis but lets see how he'll perform in another way game. 0-2 so far but this game could be different

So you are saying that North Texas is much better than Arkansas State? So that game should not count?

NO, the OU v UO game should not count...
Im saying that the North Texas game should have been a win for us because thats what the whole team was thinking that week leading up to the UNT game..
Remember that UNT is only 2 seasons removed now from dominating the SUN BELT...
SMU should be 3-1 and thats how most people feel. They let that game get away and thats a win that they really needed to get a Bowl game insight.
My grandma could have went 18-19 against SHST or AKST. so those games have boosted Willis' confidence and have helped him get into his grove.

I bet if you ran the same plays you couldn't complete 18 of 19 against AIR

And SMU couldn't pull off the FREE or GUARANTEED WIN against NTSU either. Good call, by the way. See you at the dome this weekend.

Let's just see if any other QB completes 18 of 19 amd 5 td's against SHSU the rest of the year. I would lay money no one else will do better. That includes any grandmothers.

the issue on Willis is not accuracy-never has been. The issue with Willis is arm strength. It will be interesting to see how he performs against better athletes.

I thought that was what Arky State was supposed to provide...better athletes. He didn't do 18 of 19, but the did alright and after all the nashing of teeth and the sky is falling talk prior to the game...I thought 55 points was quite telling. The issue is whether the team can keep their head, unlike TCU, and continue to improve and focus on each game. We have the ability to play very well...if we don't get carried away and forget that every game is a fight.

thats why Burns offense is perfect for Willis, doesn't take a great arm to be productive.. its about about making the right reads and making good decisions.. soon you will see this offense evolve to what it was like in Cincy where burns won a conf usa title.. they called it bball on a football field..
I am hesitating from saying we will be like tech, not this season maybe when willis is a jr and sr

Oh geez! its amazing what beating up on tweedle-dee and tweadle-dum does fo some on this board. Comparisons to Texas Tech's offense are asinine.

I am starting to worry about you, jt. Seriously. You've never been so bitter and vindictive. Everything ok?

No I'm fine. I still have my heart, having not given it to SMU in song. See you at the dome tomorrow.

They also both call running & passing plays; and unless I am mistaken use 11 players.
The donkey's name is Kiki.
On a side note, anybody need a patent attorney?
