Ryan "Touchdown Machine" Kennedy

Postby J.T.supporta » Fri Sep 29, 2006 1:24 am

After a hat trick performance with 3 TD catches in last weeks win over stAte, look for Ryan Kennedy to be a huge impact in the passing game this week.

Not used much last season, its about damn time that Ryan gets the ball.

Kennedy is a big framed TE that has potential to play on Sundays. Im glad to the him being used in the offense. Kennedy needs to see the ball coming his way atleast 10 times against Tulane.

Look for SMU to find Kennedy open down field many times while using their versatile running game to create open space downfield for its receivers.

If SMU is going to Win on Saturday, Kennedy needs to have a TD grab. The TE is a really important position in the passing game and I hope SMU can utilize him the right way in their offense

Why fight the urge? If you keep that stuff bottled up you might explode!

Why in the hell did it take them this long to get him involved on a regular basis?

The spread offense is not designed for tight ends. It is designed to stretch the field horizontally (quick passes to the WRs) and vertically (4-5 WRs mean linebackers frequently have to drop into pass coverage or be replaced with DBs). TEs are not terribly effective for either of these uses.

Kennedy is a crucial part in the spread because when the ponies cant get their passing game going, they force the issue with the run...

I look for Ryan to be used heavily on the Play Action and I only hope that Willis will get him the ball

Its bout damn time we use kennedy

Amen. Ryan is underutilized. On top of that he's a fine young man. He's the only one of the current team that I have met (and his parents, as well). He is top drawer in my book and I expect to see him playing on Sundays.

Ditto. I met Ryan when he was working in Bob Sharp's Spirit Shop at Ford Stadium. He's a fine representative of SMU. I look forward to seeing him catch more passes and score more TD's for SMU this year!
