The Phil Bennett Show?

Postby KnuckleStang » Mon Oct 02, 2006 12:02 am

I know there is a brief and simple explanation for this, but I'll ask the question anyway. Why doesn't our athletic department produce a weekly coach's show. I'm only asking because the other night I was insomniacking and watching Fox College Sports channel around 5:00 in the morning. I was treated to the Bethune-Cookman Wildcats football show. That's right I said BETHUNE-COOKMAN. Since then, I have witnessed the shows, or seen the listings on these FCS channels for shows of Lehigh, Middle Tennessee St, Troy St, Florida A&M, Robert Morris, Georgia Southern (admittedly a good 1-AA team with a large following, but still), and East Tennessee St.

Don't get me wrong, Duke Hasson is a genial host, and he amuses me. But limiting ourself to internet broadcast seems like a waste. If freaking Bethune Cookman can have what amounts to a nationally broadcast coach's show, I don't understand why we can't. George O'Leary has a show. Skip Holtz has a show. Kragthorpe has one. Price has one. Snider has one. Basically everybody has one except us. Why. Please post your thoughts.

(and please don't tell me there's no market for it, unless you think there's less of a market for our show than there is for Robert Morris.)
