UNT 1-4Not to bring the board down, but man.....if we could have that game back and we are 4-1....dam@!!!!!!!!!!!
UNT since we played them..... Tulsa 28-3 Akron - 33-13 (who?) Middle TN State 35-0 (are you kidding me?) Maybe I should not be POURING this much salt in the wound...but that which does not kill us makes us stronger.... DBB
Re: UNT 1-4
Tell me about it...our team (UNT) has really blossomed since that Saturday night on September 9. Maybe we'll be your only loss and you'll be our only victory? Should you find yourselves looking for a new head coach, offensive coordinator or even just someone to shag balls or pick up after Peruna...we'd gladly give you Darrell Dickey and Ramon Flaningan. Good luck guys! I sincerely hope SMU has great season and makes it to a bowl game this year.
Sadly, I agree. Guess it took something like that to get them going. That game was the most embarassing loss in the Bennett era by far. Heck, we played better in the 44-0 blow out by TCU or even the 66-8 loss at A&M than we did that night. *sighs* ![]()
UNT vs. SMU '06 = TCU vs. SMU '05
"Remember Danny - Two wrongs don't make a right but three rights make a left."
As a game that sparked a winning streak? Sure.
In no other way or fashion do I want my University to be associated with UNT. ![]()
Don't worry...we'll be able to return the favor next year at Ford. ![]()
NTS couldn't get our fan's, or our teams attention before that game, well I KNOW they will have SMU's attention in 2006! I will be looking forward to that game. What an embarrassing day that was!

Guys, guys...we must get OFF this North Texas thing.
SMU went to high school U. and got beat by an average team playing at home who wanted it more. They did us a favor. We are not under the illusion that we are playing to get into the BCS like TCU, and they have been lamenting the SMU loss last year until they got beat last weekend. What a waste of time. I say we accept the loss for what it did, which was to focus the team. And not worry about it until or unless it matters. "Moderation in all things, and especially in Absoluts [vodka]." The Benediction, Doc Breeden, circa 1992
And it does prove the point that the College game is an emotional one, the "best" team doesn't always win. Emotion and luck can surpass talent. Isn't that why we like it? Otherwise, we could just play the game on paper and recruiting analysis.
