....I've about had it with this 3 ring circus. All of the sunshiners around here, applauding coach B for this and that (handing out suspensions, etc.), "hang in there boys", rock on ponies, "Go Corey, Go" crap is equally as frustrating as the complete ineptitude of this football "program".....what freakn' next? I rencently spoke with 2 old buds in Dallas, SMU football season tickets holders, DIEHARDS!!, who have not been to a game this year...another, a bball tic holder, did not renew for '06-07, ALL of these folks are Mustang Club types, long time fans, who have had it, lost interest...I am right there, too....such a sad state of affairs. GO CARDS...beat the Padres!

A team has to have rules and everyone has to follow them. The Coach can't pick and choose who gets punished and who doesn't. Look at Maurice Clarett. He might not be in jail today, if at sometime during his early college years someone made him ride pine. Sometimes, you have to do these things. Sure, I want to throw up, too, and it seems unfair that we seem to have the only coach who has the nads to discipline a star player. Hopefully, its a minor deal and he'll be back on the field against Marshall. But in the meantime, not knowing the facts, this is a coach's judgment call and we have to abide by it. We have certainly had the circus at the QB position since the DP. Flanagan benched for the TCU game with a bowl appearance on the line. QB plays in an intramural game. QB joins a rock band. QB joins an accounting firm. QB injures shoulder. Call it bad karma. I don't know, but we're still on somebody's list.

It was Dante Womack who was benched by Cavan in the TCU game.

Let's hope that Corey is more "Lance-like" and not the second coming of Jim Bob T....

that team was plagued with injuries etc.-it wasn't all Jim Bob Taylor's fault who actually went on to ALL-ACC honors at Georgia Tech and I believe got a shot in the NFL.

Jeff Courtwright. Walks on off the Phi Delt Intramural team and replaces McILhenney and pooceeds to throw the longest pass (96 yards) in SWC History to He Who Shall Not be Mentioned.

Rules Schmools - if you are a good enough player you should get a pass - UT wouldnt think twice - we need to get over this kind of stuff. If you dont have the stomach to run a college football program full of hypocracy, then we might as well get out of college sports -

Tolbert is dead on! I don't care that our coach has morals. I don't give a [deleted] that our QB got in a scuffle, he shouldn't have been at a party, but he was. Just when I think our program is turning the corner we take two steps back. This is D-1A football, start acting like we belong! And all those people who say hang in there boys, beat UTEP, make me want to puke as well, you are idiots.

This could still work out OK. Everybody thought Lou Holtz was nuts for benching two starters for the Orange Bowl years ago against OU.
The Razorbacks kicked OU's everlovin' *ss.
