Being Honest...We Probably Would have Lost with Willis

Postby alamocitystang » Sat Oct 07, 2006 3:00 pm

I think we are underestimating this team. UTEP is good...they have a huge fan base...i probably wouldn't be safe wearing my SMU shirts in town today (i live in San Antonio). Not to mention we took away their chance at the first realigned C-USA title. UTEP was better than Tulsa last year, but we took that away from them. A pretty good team, revenge and a hostile environment....Willis or no Willis we shouldn't worry too much about losing this one. It would be nice to show up though!

UTEP is not that great! I watched their games against Tech and New Mexico State last night. Their defensive backs are very vulnerable and Jordan Palmer is very charitable with the ball once he takes a few hits. I still like our chances. UTEP also gives up a few yards on the ground.

If you think I am acting like a fool, then I will stop. I listen to my peers and respect their opinions.

That's what I've been thinking. Any team that is worse than us in pass defense can't be great. We're also getting back 3 of our RBs that we haven't had in a few games. I mean sure it's going to be tough now, but we definitely still have a chance at coming home with a W.

UTEP is not that good. This was not a win, but winnable.

And still is. The bookies only added 5 points with the QB swing. We just need to score once more or stop them one extra time than we would have had to with a win.
