yeah, but in this case smart would've been better. 4th quarter, on the road...you play field position. UTEP scores here & you're sunk. Punt the damn ball and get UTEP inside the 20.

The utep announcers (one of whom was a former coach but I do not know who) called for Bennett's head. Really reamed him for doing it. I personally think it is one of those hero if you make it goat if you dont calls.

This is a moot point, I liked the call for the fake punt...maybe I would have rather us lined up and let the punter throw a pass to someone wide open..but the coaches thought it would work....

bottom line, UTEP then proceeded to fumble and give up a go ahead touchdown to SMU...point is moot....as is this post
