Great job Ponies!

Postby TacoPony » Sat Oct 07, 2006 11:09 pm

they showed great heart in this game. what an exciting 2nd half. we were 10 point underdogs on the road, and with the QB distraction, and with the poor first half.

hopefully the comeback to 21-17 will benefit us all year. we should know that we ARE capable to come back from a big defecit.

a loss is easier to take when we're competitive and show some good fight & heart.

I agree. This team has got its act together. If Justin is the quarterback, we are going to have a good year.

Shenanigans

Postby DLiu » Sat Oct 07, 2006 11:13 pm

This game became unpredictable with Willis out among other things.

I wish I had been there for Lindley's return. 80 yards - good job.

ok, so don't call it a 'moral victory'. but it was a balls out effort in the second half and i for one feel better about that than having a second half like the first.

think about tulane last year. crappy first half, crappy second half. i'll take this.

I am not one to normally support moral victories, but given the current state of the program, I was so pleased with the heart that these guys showed tonight. Willis needs to show some maturity and step into his role. He should be given a second chance - hopefully the team will be behind him.

I blame him for the loss tonight, but it is one that we can bounce back from.

Amen times 10! I'm very sorry we lost, but the good news is that we didn't fold up at half time and lose 30-0. This team does not quit. Don't get me wrong, we need Willis back - but we could have won without him too.

I don't think anyone is satisfied with the loss or the final score.
But anyone who saw or listened to the game has to be impressed by the Ponies' effort.
Great job by Rich and Craig, by the way. They paint a hell of a picture through their broadcast.

Been impressed with effort on and off for most of the past 10 years... eventually we have a right to expect more, don't we? :(

I am glad they fought hard, that does show signs of good things to come, but I was also happy to see the back-up QB come in and perform well, under pressure (not knowing he was starting until friday or saturday), and lead a comeback like he did. Granted alot of other things played into the comeback (Lindleys return, great defense) but Slater still showed that he can get the job done if need be! That is huge considering the lack of depth we have had at the past in such a key position.
Sports, and all that implies.
