Sad but true. Need to sell beer like they do at Tulane games. Too bad we are in University Park.

there are lots of kids out there who would love to go to a game, to a lot of, especially "underpriviliged" kids, it could be a big deal. how about Big Brothers Big Sisters? DISD elementary day at SMU? come on, if there were some devoted and talented marketers out there, it could happen...think about how SMU could make it happen versus all the difficulties in making it happen! if i'm a recruit, i would want to play in front of a packed house regardless of who was filling the stands.
and yes, selling beer would help ![]()
This goes back to the Athletic Department Marketing crew- they invite the churches, Boy Scouts, FCA and SMU Staff but don't give a link or phone number on how to get tickets. Ideas are there, the follow through is terrible.
Ok, I'll bite...why can you not watch and enjoy a college football game without booze? You have the whole rest of your miserable life to get as drunk as you want to when you want to. Take a three hour break and enjoy the game for what it is for Pete's sake. geez. ![]()
Very True, but this whole thread was about filling sits and beer in Ford will fill sits. its sad but its true/.
------------ Sorry Supporta, but there was more beer, wine & mixed drinks than people @ Tulane & they only got 20K for their 1st Superdome opener. Although I'd like to have drink at the game, it's winning that packs the house. Why else would people attend FW Tech? It ain't the beautiful stadium, lack of parking, or bad band-- it's "W's", baby. And by the way, Ive never had a beer @ DKR or Kyle field but they get a fair crowd-- year in & year out, too. YOU WANT THE TRUTH? YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH!
The Dome in N.O.L.A. is how many times as big as ours???..exactly
I know many students of age that want to continue drinking from the BLVD. and thats why they dont go to the game. Beer is just a suggestion to how we can solve the lack of attendance problem, its not the complete answer.
Genius, the point was 20K at the Tulane game.
Same size school, in the "Superdome" serving grownup refreshments on their Opening Day. It ain't the kool-aid, it's the W/L that puts butts in the seats. BTW, no alcohol sold in the Sun Bowl & it was rockin despite torrential rain. Also: do the math... most of the students (complaining about alcohol @ SMU FB games) are under age anyway. If you need a drink, be a man & bring a flask! Or do you drink Cosmos?
Like I always tell my wife: "I'd rather have it and not need it."
