Since it appears at this time that JW will again be on suspension, has there been any talk of a series or 2 for Eric Johnson. They kept saying such positive things about him in the spring that this might be an opportunity to see if he can do anything. Just wondering if he is getting any practice time.

Practice time? Si.

Playing time? We should be so lucky that we will have a big enough lead so we have the luxury of playing our third string QB in a game. Or so unfortunate that we trail so much it doesn't matter.

Bennett has shown the willingness to take the starting QB out and talk and coach him while lettng the 2nd teamer run a series or 2, such as he did at NTSU and TT. Just wonderng if he has enough confidence
in Johnson to put him in if he thinks some game time coaching would be in order.

Johnson Could get Some Snaps

Postby The Falcon » Wed Oct 11, 2006 11:37 am

I have seen Johnson play several times for Plano West. He is a very good high school quarterback. Whether that translates to college ball is yet to be seen.

According to Bennett - Johnson has been waiting for an opportunity to show what he can do and he is now our number two quarterback with
Justin on suspension.

I think Slater can do the job on Saturday and I certainly will be there and will be cheering for him to do so. If Eric gets in the game He will have my total support, but I'm sure it will be a learning curve for him. As the coaches say - the game moves very fast when you don't have experience and it takes a couple of games to slow down for the QB.

Having said that - I hope Justin can play.

I really hope EJ can get a chance to run the offense for a series or two.
