Let's All Thank Corey Slater!!!SMU QB Corey Slater takes the reigns of the Mustangs offense for two series today and does a good job of getting them settled in before Justin Willis comes into the game.
Thanks, Corey! It's good to know you're there and ready when needed!
All the playes derserve our gratitude

Slater played well and to his ability but Willis brought another dimension to the offense. It is doubtful we would have won with Slater.
Nice talk.......for an ________.
Re: Let's All Thank Corey Slater!!!
i will agree with you on this one ol' timer! the TEAM looked good today.
We'd all be singing Slater's praises if Renaldo catches that first down bomb and Columbus Givens slows down before slipping out of bounds for a first down.
Slater moved the offense well when he was in there. Givens' slip was costly, and he got them in position for the first field goal attempt. Willis was the star today, but Slater clearly is capable.
Coach Bennett said Willis and Slater were talking throughout the game, and that when Slater was in there, Willis was sharing things he saw in the Marshall defense from the sideline. Seems like they get along pretty well and really support each other. Nice game, Corey and Justin.
Its not just Willis playing guys.. i agree that JW is our guy but.... the other guys on the field have to make plays too..... no matter who is behind center....
My original intent for this post was to give credit to Slater for stepping up and being prepared, as a back-up QB should. Under the circumstances of the past week, he did a yeoman's job and should be given extra credit.
Yes, all of the players played well! Props to ALL of the Mustangs on today's win! KEEP IT UP! BEAT THE PIRATES!
Football is a team sport...every player out there is important, and when they all do their jobs and work together, the end results is a BIG "W". Justin brings an added dimension when he is out there, but he can't do it by himself and it would appear he has great support ... including Corey.
