The momentum is building . . .

Postby 93Mustang » Sun Oct 15, 2006 11:14 am

Great win yesterday: 1. no Rogers; 2. no Muse; 3. no Martin; 4. no Henderson after early injury; 5. QB distractions this week; 6. and face mask call on punt followed by fumble. Do we crumble? No, we rally, and put them away in the 4th quarter. This team is playing with a lot of confidence. Even at UTEP, without Willis, they rallied. This team is playing like it knows it's going to win. Think about our wins after the terrible start on the road: 1. demolish a D2 team like we should; 2. demolish an Ark. St. team that has gone on to demonstrate it wasn't a pushover; 3. beat Tulane after squandering a lead in a game in which emotion should have been on Tulane's side - a character building win; and 4. yesterday overcoming adversity to put Marshall away. The players are getting used to winning. The rest of our games are winnable starting with ECU this Saturday. ECU is no pushover as they beat UVA at home two weeks ago. Let's take them one game at a time and get the momentum building. Willis' cool confidence and outstanding play is elevating this team. Also, unlike 1992 and 1997 when we showed signs of life, many of the starters are going to be here for a while. Let's keep rolling.

I think we will continue to win unless Willis gets killed on that stupid off sides play where the offensive lineman just sits there after drawing the defense off and the whole D-Line etc. comes after Willis on a free play. SUPPORT THE MUSTANGS on Halloween and SHOW UP ! We are having a great season.

It's taken quite a while, and honestly longer than expected, but I think Bennett is nearing expectations. When was the last time we were excited about the direction of the program at this point in a season? GO MUSTANGS!

I have higher expectations than 4-3, but it's clear Coach Bennett and his staff have the Ponies playing better, believing in themselves, and winning games. Keep it up!
Rise up, Mustang Nation!
