If this goes through you can count on the Big East, CUSA and Mountain West going to 10 ( and no further).

BRING BACK THE GLORY DAYS OF SMU FOOTBALL!!!
For some strange reason, one of the few universities that REFUSE to use their school colors: Harvard Crimson & Yale Blue.

Re: ACC strategic direction...
Actually, this could leave SMU in a lot better position, since we aren't exactly going to land in the Big East or MWC anyway... and this could at least give the southwest schools in the WAC some leverage.
Big East schools form their new conference with 4 CUSA schools (Louisville, Cincinnati, ECU, South Florida or Memphis)
Mountain West adds two or three WAC schools (pending on Wyoming staying in D1A) (Boise, Nevada or CSU Fresno)
Leaves CUSA with 6 southern schools; the WAC with 6-7 (assuming SJSU dies) schools with 5 located in Texas-Oklahoma-Louisiana. It is likely the two conferences would meld into one 10-school conference that would include SMU.
As of now, we could gain membership into CUSA, or we may not... at least if this shakes out, we know we will be in a southern-regional conference.
