SMU = Southern Methodist University.

I just got an email back from some guy named "Bobby" at SI. He says they are fixing the mistake. Took em a full day to realize SMU is not USM. Can you blame them, though? It's not like SMU and USM are BCS teams. :roll:

I suspect that President Turner doesn't spend his mornings trolling on the ESPN site. He may have a few other things to take care of.

Maybe they heard it was a story about players in legal trouble and just assumed it was SMU.

This is why I was glad we were in a conference with USM. It would create opportunities for the media to learn the difference.
