I am sure yesterday's rating was among the best in the country. I can't believe this kid has 3 more years of eligibility!

What is amazing is the talent that is in the top 25 that comes from Texas high schools and even more impressive is the number that are sophomores or freshman:
Chase Holbrook - SO - NMST
Graham Harrell - SO - TTU
Kevin Kolb - SR - Houston
Shawn Bell - SR - Baylor
Chase Daniel - SO - Missouri
Bobby Reid - SO - OK State
Justin Willis - FR - SMU
Colt McCoy - FR - Texas (Actually from Hobbs, NM but it was part of Texas once and is only 5 miles away)

Yeah, haven't you heard the cute little story about the pile of "Texas soil" they put under the bed when he was born?

Colt McCoy is a graduate of Jim Ned High School in Tuscola, TX, near Abilene. While he was born in Hobbs, he is a Texas high school product.

He was not in the top 10 because he did not have the best game at Tulane. The week before Tulane he was number 1 I believe.

He is projected to finished with about 1,923 passing yards. That's a number we have not seen with SMU QBs in recent memory.

He is the #1 Passer in the country! Nobody is within 160 points of him. Luckily they ruled the pass last week a lateral or he would have dropped down in the rankings.
