or is the common wisdom that he will be held out an additional length of time ?

I doubt we'll see him, since we've proven we can win without him.. he keeps reinjuring himself trying to come back too early.
I like the pesky Gator jabber.. did not like that Auburn loss though

Up here near Tally it is mostly 'Noles...BTW it is one heck of a commute to head up to NSB from Oviedo.
Martin is sorely missed, and would keep us from facing the 4th down futility we experienced against Marshall. Hope he returns soon.

Didn't Bennett say Martin is questionable "at best"?

It takes about 45 mins in good traffic, an hour and change in bad, and 6 1/2 in rush hour But it's worth it. I've gotta be near civilization, no compromising on that. Daytona just didn't cut it.. plus, I grew up there.

Didn't Bennett say he was over the foot injury and the new injury is a hamstring or somesuch? Bennett also said the trainers think he might be ready. Be nice to have him back for this game.

As a former athlete I can tell you that a pulled hamstring can be extremely painful. If the trainer does a good job of breaking up the scar tissue and he takes enough pills to keep the swelling down, he might be good to go. If he can't make the cuts and bursts he needs to be effective we are better off with Mapps and Fitz. I think PB wants a 100% D-Martin for Tulsa and UofH.

I think that our running game isn't dismal enough to warrant a semi-injured Demyron return. Ultimately, he hasn't proved this year to be a game changer and our running backs haven't lost us games yet. Good call IMO.

I hope they let him heal up fore the UAB game. No need to let him comeback at 80%...

Martin is out. Kate Hairopolous reported he will not play. What I would like to see is Fitzgerald be more of the focused back. He hasn't shown signs of the fumbling issue that plagued him before. Plus, I thought he was getting into a rhythm. His YPC avg. was good against Marshall.

Agreed, but I think Fitz is a better change of pace back than Mapps is. They're also using maps in predictable running situations. Hopefully they're really tweaking the running game for use against ECU.

Fitz limped off the field of the Marshall game. Has he been reported as OK. A high ankle sprain takes a long time to heal properly.

Are you sure you aren't thinking Jesse Henderson? I don't remember Fitz hobbling off the field.
