Forum search functionality

Forum newbie, sorry if this topic has been covered before (I'm sure it has). Anyone else having trouble geting the forum search feature to work? Seems straightforward enough; what am I doing wrong?

I have complained about it in the past; it is seriously messed up.

As opposed to the Ponyfans 2 step to get to the forums

The search is disabled. Every time someone makes a post, this forum software has to build a search index. This consists of taking every word from the post and storing it in a database table. After a few thousand posts you can figure that this table has millions of entries. It led to poor performance (super long times to insert words into the search table, thus long times to make posts) so I removed it.

Any way to limit the searches to posts in the last 6 months or so to cut down on the size of the search index?

I think he means from the front page. None of the forum links work, they all go to the forum index and you have to click the forum name again.

That is correct. Love Field is now free of the Texas 2 Step, I would like to see the Ponyfans.com 2 Step disappear as well.
