I was actually in school in Virginia his senior year...you couldn't open a paper or turn on a TV without hearing about Ronald Curry. Funny how his senior year was also Michael Vick's senior year. Rumor had it that when Curry decided against Va Tech that opened up a spot for Vick.

The old ones (like in the picture vs. UNC) are somewhat similar, especially with the pant striping. I don't think they were really fashioned after anyone though. For our new ones, I think we just went with whoever our supplier is and got the current "hip" design.

And who recruited them? (Well, not sure about Curry, but Peppers I know)

That was a bad UNC team that year too (Peppers aside) . . . just better than we were!
Sports, and all that implies.

That UNC team was 8-5 with a win over Florida State and beat Auburn in the Peach Bowl.

Yes, Curry was a tremendous athlete coming from HS and into College.

He was a decent running QB who had a pretty good arm. And Peppers was an out right BEAST on the line.
