he used to do all the sports stories in the daily campus, and had some pretty funny random atricles... and if my memory is correct he also did some stuff on smu tv about our teams... nevertheless Guy is a great guy, its unfortunate that only a handful of students supported us the way he did!

I wouldn't put anything past the keystone kops.

I am an alum of SMU and for the past 3 years me and a group of fraternity brothers have rented a tent on the boulevard. Last week we were warned by the "Keystone Kops" that we were no longer allowed to have a cooler of beer without a bartender to check ID's. This was not a cooler that is for everyone just me and a group of buddies and their wives/girlfriends. I know that the school made this rule for the fraternity tents but I was not aware that they had done this with the alumni tents as well. If this is true I believe that this is such a terrible policy and would discourage me and my friends from renewing our tent next year. Has anyone else had this problem or are we the only one?

Considering everyone is drinking beer, and I've yet to see a bartender at a non-frat tent, I'm pretty sure you guys were mistaken for students.

If you're ATOs, they were probably already looking to bust your chops anyways. Are ya'll the ones that fly the ATO flag on your tent?

Coming Clean

Postby Beavr10 » Fri Oct 20, 2006 1:48 pm

So I realize the idea of this site is to be able to take shots, run your mouth and speak out on opinions without being identified. However, I have nothing to hide. I did write that article, I do sell the TCU Sucks shirts. Pluckers does setup shop and give away wings at my tent.
Sure, I could have busted out the big words and the proper sentence structure if I felt I needed to do so. Yes, I own 3 suits. One is for weddings, one is for funerals and one is from the 80’s and it used to be my Dad’s.
But I don’t need to justify my loyalty or intelligence in the form of collegiate graduate writing and attire. For those of you that have read my book you would know I live a simple life and like to “dumb things down.”
The fact of this matter is (I write like I speak) and like I feel, not like my English teacher told me too. I speak from the mind and the heart.
That being said, I bleed red and blue. I was arrested as a Junior at the Navy game for sitting in the front row behind the Navy bench and cheering for SMU. Even though the seats had been empty for the entire 1st quarter my ticket didn’t match up and so the rent-a-cops told me to move – when I wouldn’t, they pulled me up the stairs. So they really don’t worry me to much as of late.
That being said, Tent #17 will be open at 8am for the Halloween game, no loud music but we will have a radio and a TV. We will also have wings and plenty of garbage cans to store choice beverages. Anyone young or old is welcome. They will have to call out the Dallas SWAT team to cart us all away.
Oh, and to the doubters out there. If you have heard of, “Facebook” the internet site, there is an SMU student group over 400 strong with 400 more pending, just after 2 days and they are already talking about skipping classes and going out @ 8am. And the SMU men's club soccer team that I coach, we also be there.

1 STRONG & COUNTING!!!

Long live the Mustang Pride.
