2nd announcement for Boolevardfrom the marketing department:
I think having red flags/rally towels at the games (especially the TV game on Halloween) is a great idea. Unfortunately, our marketing budget is a little tight to allow something on a grand scale such as this. They are trying to fix it for next year, but we have to work with what we have currently. Beginning this season, we have outsourced our sponsorships. A company called ISP now oversees all sponsorship materials and inventory. They are aware of our promotional wishes and have been working on getting sponsors for such items. We have held back thundersticks so that they can be used on the East Side for this game, so there will be some color for the cameras. We want to do all that we can for the TV audience.
I like the cardboard cut-outs idea. At least show that national TV audience we have a sense of humor. Bring a scarecrow to occuply the seat next to you. Bring out some inflatables.
OR - in classic SMU fashion, put a bunch of folded "reserved" signs in the seats on the east side
If the yellow shirts won't let you bring in a scarecrow, just buy a kids ticket for it. I'm sure they couldn't argue too much and then it'd help our attendence number as well.
If buying red towels for this game is out of the marketing budget, that does not bode well if we ever do get a following of fans. I could probably go to Sams and get towels for less than $100.00 that would let everyone that is going to be there wave with both hands.
Will the Barney Fife security allow us to enter wearing full halloween costumes? I may try to come as Stallion! ![]() C-ya @ Milos!
About $10 or so at sam's. I think for 25 towels. Sir, shooting-star, sir.
