Attendance at UTEP-Tulsa

Postby RGV Pony » Sat Oct 28, 2006 8:50 am

...was a little over 28,000. The place looked pretty full, save for some empty seats in the endzone (note to stadium designers: don't paint seats likely to be empty a bright color like yellow/gold).

Did Tulsa take some seats out to reduce Skelley's capacity when they started on the building in the endzone? It seems like the place held 40k +, at least when the USFL played there. I don't think there were 12,000 empty seats last night.

Skelly stadium is as old as dirt. Ponylb played high school football there in the 40s. Yes, some seats were removed to build the end zone complex. One imagines the only time that stadium is full now days is when OU or OSU plays Tulsa there.

I hate that stadium. It's smells like urine, and everything is yellow. BUT IT'S A CASTLE

It looks like a shoebox, especially next to the first-class basketball arena they have up there.
