GREAT TEAM EFFORT

Postby westexSMU » Tue Oct 31, 2006 11:32 pm

The defense played hard and Mapps touchdown run shows how special he can be. This certainly wasn't a game of precision execution but a great team effort regardless. No Quit in The MUSTANGS !

This was a win were the SMU team played the entire game and didn’t give up. The D gave but never broke. This doesn't seem that big when watching the game but how important was it that we limited UAB to field goals? Extremely important as it allowed us to score one TD and go ahead. Though it wasn’t SMU’s best game, they did what they had to do and played the entire game hard. Good win on national TV and at home. The Ponies should be proud and we alums and fans do not have to make excuses around the water cooler tomorrow.

Honestly, to me, the 1st three quarters was pretty mediocre football by the Mustangs without any sense of urgency or that the season was on the line. I thought the 4th quarter was where both the offense and the defense really turned it up...especially the defense. Congrats, Mustangs!!! Just two more out of the next three--BEAT HOUSTON!!
Geaux MUSTANGS! Geaux Tigers!

I am proud of our boys and how they kept fighing and finally got it sorted out.

Lets jsut hope that we got those bad quarters out of our system because we do that against Houston and Tulsa and they will destroy us
