Just wondering if anyone saw Brandon Bonds' pregame speech in the locker room before last night's game. I thought it was very inspiring. Definitely made me proud to be a Mustang.

Yeah I loved it too. Brandon and his brother Byron can attest to how long it's taken to even have a chance to sniff a bowl season.

That man is a beast. Complete shop-wrecker. And a good leader to boot. Now where's my youtube of the game?

Yeah a good speech, but the part about SMU players being able to play at Texas or Michigan was a little far fetched. He was forgetting Texas gets the best of the best. I woud say a few might be able to sniff the field at Texas but few and far between.

My dad is a Texas fan and grad and has seen both UT and SMU play in person this season. He believes that Justin Willis is much further along in his development than Colt McCoy, despite McCoy's impressive numbers. He thinks Willis is doing more with less.

Bonds' statement wasn't completely false. Some of the guys on this team were in fact invited to play football at some top programs...they were just invited to walkon rather than being offered scholarships

With all due respect Justin Willis isn't in the same league as Colt McCoy. I hate University of Texas football and I admit it. You can't compare the competition. Justin Willis is perfect for SMU though. Having to back up Vince Young and proving he belongs in the Big 12 and is probably the best QB in the Big 12.

I loved that speech! There were rumors going around that Bonds wasn't always the most mature guy in the world, but that speech sounded to me like a young man who has grown up and sees the big picture. He seems like a very inspired and inspiring leader.

If you've met the Bonds' mother, you know where they get their inspiration and maturity from. She's a heck of a lady! Glad to know she's a Mustang fan!
