SOS to DMN!

Post by ALEX LIFESON »

Let me state right up front, that the DMN does not owe SMU feature stories. It has now been one week, since they have run a feature article on the Stangs. In my own efforts to push the game this week, almost every person responded with a "oh really?" or "I didn't know that" when I told them that Houston was ranked 30th, and in first place in CUSA. Not to mention when I told them what is on the line for SMU, and how big the game is for the program. I know we are in the CUSA game notes today, but come on, the picture of Colt McCoy was bigger than our little info. We are three days away from those trash talkn', 7-11 dining, ghetto livn', dumpster divn', can likn', bottle sniffn', ditch crawln', comuter schooln', gang bangn' coogs roll into Big D! Shout it out Loud! Go Mustangs!

I totally agree. I hope and I bet Kate is fighting to get this game in the DMN and tell what a big game it is for us.. Hell we have had 3 seasons in 22 yrs where a November game actually meant something..

Heaven forbid. I am outraged, notwithstanding the 3,682 consecutive days of SMU coverage thanks to mr. p and McClown. We'll probably lose four recruits to Texas and 8,000 people at the game Saturday as a result of this.

WOW, I think someone is PUMPED up.

Sure hopw the players are focused and not too pumped up to not think straight.

That happens.

Know where to be and do your job guys. We have the ability to win this game.
Focus on your task as part of the team.

Go Mustangs

I am on jtstangs side on this one fellas. Where would the morning news find the room to put a game preview in todays rag? There is a life size poster of a texas longhorn hoopster on the front page, we wouldn't want them to downsize that would we? Of course we need the gigantic story to balance it out. I am a fan of that 8x10 of life saver colt mccoy. We needed another story on young colt, there may be a new mole we didn't know about. So i am with jtstang on this one.

Recruit the No. 1 Basketball Player in the Nation on a day the DMN devotes much of its coverage to college basketball and voila SMU would be on the cover. I guess they should have done a cover story on the great Cameron Spencer-you know the last Basketball player in Texas to get a Division 1A scholarship. In case you missed it the story was about the Top Players in Texas and the Nation who have decided to stay home-a very timely and logical story for the start of Basketball season. Why is this so hard to understand. I really enjoyed the story. Also, the story did show how SMU used to get its share of the Texas Top 10 which was traced for the last 5-6 years.

Splitting hairs, but he was the no. 2 recruit and Durant is from the Northeast so I am not sure why he would be in a feature of how the top Texas and National recruits stay close to home. Admit I did not read the article, maybe they were pointing at him as the exception to the rule (trend).

Here I was all excited on the big game eve, and what do I find in the DMN?...........................ZERO!!!!!????? I like the Mavs and the Cowboys, but my passion, and my number one sports priority is the SMU Mustangs! So that was about 20 pages of trash for me this morning, what a let down,.Come on DMN, it's Dallas vs Houston with 1st place on the line!

Alex I was going to post the same about nothing in todays paper, you beat me to it. There is one positive in todays paper: there must be a lot money being bet on the ponies. The line is down to 3.
