nice way to end a game and great way for the Doherty era to begin. Especially nice to see so much scoring from our low post guys

Big Win...

Postby BringBackThePonies03 » Sun Nov 12, 2006 7:39 pm

Illinois State is definitely "not the class of the Valley" but they are part of the MVC, and typically all MVC teams end the nonconference with a winning record and I expect the same from Illinois State this year, but this was a huge win. To start Doherty's career off like that and to have Pearson tip in the ball for the win after his pour offensive performance, I mean this is really impressive.

GO PONIES!!!

Most teams from Illinois have good teams. Chicago is a very fertile area to get top notch recruits from. University of Illinois is always a top team because of their ability to recruit that area.

Sagarin had the game as basically a toss-up, of course that is based on past years performances so take it for what that is worth but basically it was a team that we should have match up pretty even with and we won. Good job! 8)

McNeese ST up by 9 over Florida St in 1st half. Though I suspect that will not last

Seriously? Did you expect us to run everyone out of the gym or something? Doherty is working with arguably one of the least talented rosters in CUSA (and certainly thinnest roster) and you are worried about our chances against Florida St.? Well no sh_t.

CP - and others - You are right - even the announcers were saying that it has been a long time since our big men were our leading scorers. With about 8 minutes left Bamba, Rack, and Ike were the three leading scorers on the team and Rack was playing well on the offensive end when he fouled out.

By the way - to some of you downgrading ISU - they didn't have a good record last year but they brought in 4 or 5 JUCOs for this year and I believe the announcers said that two of those were all-american JUCO's.

So this was a good win. Any win is a good win.

Amen. At this stage, I am pleased with any win. I am impressed that the team did not fold after blowing the double digit lead in the second half, as in years past. I am not impressed by the blown double digit lead.
